Accreditation and Recognitions

Beverly Montessori School is fully accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS). This accreditation is considered the gold standard in Montessori excellence. We also have the highest level of membership with the Association of Illinois Montessori Schools (AIMS). Our Head of School, Kelley Ciraulo, was elected to the AIMS Board in 2018. Both of these organizations are charged with maintaining the best Montessori practices.

Requirements necessary for a program to be considered for accreditation include mixed age groupings (3-6) that foster peer learning, uninterrupted blocks of work time, and guided choice of work activity. In addition, specially designed Montessori learning materials should be meticulously arranged and available for use in an aesthetically pleasing environment. It also requires that the lead teacher in each classroom holds a Montessori credential from an accredited training center.

Beverly Montessori School is registered with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

Our school is a private, not-for-profit corporation, classified as a 501(c)3 under the Federal Tax Code.  No single individual or group of individuals own the school nor derive any financial profits from the activities of Beverly Montessori School.  Any profits from our operations are reinvested in our school!
